Coffee Filter Functions

Dusting: So many options here. A *plus* is that if you dust with a pile of them you can peel off the layers as they get dirty. The large ones are best and the large cone ones have that nice glove effect.

As Napkins: Self Explain.

To make Snow Flakes.

As Toilet Paper:Not the best but better than corn cobs or the sears catalog. (Which costs more than tp now.)

As Coasters: The two sizes of round ones fit almost any need but save those cotton ones for another use!

Origami. Brew Rite wrap around style percolator filters are square.

Bulls Eye. Perforated holes in the disc ones make these easy. Tape one on the back of a friend and take aim. (See Bullet Hole Filter Fillers.)

As Wet Wipes: I prefer the round fluted kind, bleached or non. I put them in a plastic tub with a lid after seperating them and bending down one edge of each one for easy removal. In a small jar I squirt a little almond oil, alcohol free leftover pshche-ward-safe lotion, a squirt of waterless hand cleaner and about a half of a cup of water. I warm this overa candle but if you have electricity you can use a nuker. When it is warm I shake it and pour it over the prepared coffee filters. Viola! Wet Wipes.

As Cleaning wipes: Place large filters of varrying kinds in a plastic bowl w/lid and pour cleaning solution until wet. For tough jobs, use a big stack. It's just a tree or two. Peel off layers as they get soiled. (Good tw word.)

As Fire Starters: Excellent, burn like hot little logs when you throw in stacks of the disc size filters. If it's too wet for the firewood to catch, we just cook with the filters. They add a nice smokey flavor. Again, save the cotton filters.

As Make Up Remover Pads: This is what you save those cotton disc filters for. Place in small plastic container w/lid, mix and soak with a squirt of almond oil, a little face cream, a little hydrogen peroxide (premixed and warmed).

To dab that little glob of mascara on the end of the little brush.

To soak up grease in the bottom of fried food dishes.

To dry dishes. Recommend large ones.

To hold a hot grilled cheese sandwich: Rec. large cone.

Line the bottom of small potted plants.

As Notepads.

To plug bullet holes. If you have any cotton ones left after making your make up removing pads, they would be good here, too. A Plus is that the disc size often come in sealed, clear plastic so these filters are as clean as the packagers.

To brew coffee.

To brew loose tea leaves.

To clean your mouse ball. A companion to the Qtips and alcohol.

To clean your keyboard. I use them with alcohol on the keys.

Ice Packs: Wet, wring, and freeze for moldable ice packs that wont drip if you wring them out good. Use for aching muscles or even to cool a packed lunch. I, myself, would put them in a ziplock just to not test that "drip free" thing.

Make a torch: Attach stack of filters to end of pole with wire. Several kinds have a hole perforated through the stack if you want to get creative about stringing them together.

NOT USES FOR COFFEE FILTERS:

Rolling Joints: Flush and dial 911.
